- District State Test Results show growth and improvement: Scores released by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction this week show School District of Menomonee Falls students continue to improve performance on the Wisconsin Knowledge & Concept Exams, with high percentages of students scoring proficient or advanced in math, reading, language arts, science and social studies. - 2012-13 budget documents: The School Board will continue to discuss the 2012-13 budget at its April 23rd regular school board meeting with possible action being taken May 14th.

- District promotes 2 from within: We've promoted two of our rising stars to new positions to take the place of longtime, dedicated employees. See details here.
- Congrats, Paul and Dave: Paul Tadda was elected to his first three-year term on the School Board on Tuesday, and Dave Noshay was re-elected to a second term. School Board president Kathy Shurilla did not seek re-election after serving nearly 13 years on the board. Swearing in of candidates is slated for the regular April 23 School Board meeting.
- Technology Infrastructure Improvements approved: On Monday, March 26h, the Board approved technology infrastructure improvements for all schools. The results of the projected $750,000 project will provide our students and teachers with a better electronic learning environment. It will fix some major issues with the district's network, improve reliability, provide wireless access, and enhance speed. Project Overview

- Board Approves 2012-2013 School Calendar: The Board approved the new 2012 -2013 school calendar at the February 27th regular school board meeting.
- District saves $160,000: The Menomonee Falls Education Association has agreed to pay 11.5 percent for health and dental care premiums, up from the current 8 percent, saving the district $160,000 in next year's budget. The School Board on Monday, Feb. 20, unanimously approved a Memorandum of Understanding detailing the change. See the memorandum here, press release here and teacher contract comparison here.
- North Honors Breakfast another huge success: Nearly 900 students and parents attended this year's North Honors Breakfast Thursday, Feb. 16. Students had to have a 3.75 GPA to qualify. They heard a message on the power of positive thinking from two-time Rose Bowl champion and Pewaukee native Chris McIntosh. See details here.
- Smith Family Benefit set for Feb. 26: Seventh-grader Dylan Smith, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, needs a recreational wheelchair to enjoy activities most take for granted. A fundraiser is set for Feb. 26 at The Quilted Bear. See more details here and media coverage here:
- National Art Honor Society raises $2,000 to go directly to the Falls Area Food Pantry. Empty Bowls fundraiser on Feb. 10 was a big success. Check out the details here.
